April 30, 2020--We are delighted to announce that Megan Marshall has been elected president of the Society, succeeding Alice Kessler-Harris; Andrew Delbanco is our new vice president. They will assume office in June after the announcement of our 2020 prizes.
Also assuming office in June are the newly elected members of the executive board: Geraldine Brooks, Martha Jones, Peniel Joseph, Hampton Sides, and Christina Snyder. Returning for a second three-year term are Kevin Baker, Douglas Blackmon, Douglas Brinkley, Dan Okrent, and Martha Sandweiss. The Society warmly thanks the retiring members of the board: Thomas Bender, Linda Kerber, Diane McWhorter, James Oakes, and Stacy Schiff.
